Honeydew Sago Dessert

Honeydew Sago is a popular dessert usually served at Chinese restaurants here in Penang. It is a simple-to-make and refreshing dessert that is a perfect treat for the whole family. Try making this for Chinese New Year.

Ingredients

  • 1kg honeydew melon (half purée, half flesh)

  • 1/2 cup sago or tapioca pearls

  • 200ml coconut milk from carton with 1 pinch of salt

  • Vanila ice cream (optional)

  • Syrup
  • ½ cup sugar

  • ½ cup water

  • 2 pandan leaves (rinse and knotted)
