Chinese Steamed Herbal Chicken

This is an easy and healthy steamed herbal chicken recipe using Chinese herbal ingredients such as red dates, dang gui and goji berries. Using Le Creuset’s buffet casserole to steam the chicken, the end result is a moist and tender chicken that is thoroughly cooked to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 550g Half chicken (kampung chicken)

  • 2 red dates, sliced

  • 3 slices of Dang Gui, washed

  • 1 tbsp of goji berries, soaked and washed

  • 4 garlic cloves

  • 1 thumb size ginger, sliced

  • 1 stalk spring onion

  • 1 cup of water

  • Marinade Sauce For Chicken
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp Shaoxing wine

  • Few dashes white pepper

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • Garnish
  • Spring onion

  • Coriander
