Banana Walnut Cake
Banana lovers will be thrilled with this recipe! This homely and wholesome cake is light and moist, with the natural sweetness of sticky bananas and the warm toastiness of nuts. Slice it up and serve with coffee or tea.
Ingredients
125 g butter
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup walnuts chopped
1 3/4 cup self-raising flour
2 eggs beaten
3 banana mashed
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
3 tbs milk
1 tbs boiling water
- Topping
2 slices of banana
5 walnuts
Directions
- Cream butter, sugar and water together.
- Gradually add eggs, then the mashed bananas.
- Dissolve bicarbonate of soda in milk and add flour alternately with milk to banana mixture.
- Add chopped walnuts.
- Bake at 180C for about 45mins or until knife comes out clean.
